People are just stating including myself what is written coming from the company's manual itself and for Jim to come here and say this is wrong and chastise people who are stating what is coming from SSL themselves is wrong and is NOT excepted with all due respect. So, is this true or false? If it's false as Jim just stated then please correct that ASAP. High and low pass filters, a four band equaliser, compressor/limiter and gate/expander.
The Channel Strip plug-in provides a complete SSL channel strip, modeled on the XL 9000 K Series console, and includes In the updated manual that I just downloaded on the SSL site, it clearly says/states for the Channelstrip Plugin: I mean what happened with "indistinguishable" claim? Previous "golden unit" is not golden anymore? How is it possible for company and then public to swear by these plugins and then these turn to oh well. And they charge them? And people buy them?!!Īnd all is wrapped under "technology improved" excuse? Or we modeled another "golden unit" this time?!?! I am puzzled how are people not disgusted? When 6 years later same companies are offering them "MKII" plugins which now don't even sound the same like first iteration of plugins? I mean literally NOT SOUNDING like first plugins. And.people buy them, and companies feed their bubble with ongoing tactics. And these companies call them last word of batman tech. So now you have these "indistinguishable" plugins, as close as they can be plugins, models where pros can't tell apart from hardware etc.
They expect wonders by reading manuals and references. And people expect something out of nothing because of them.
And some brands (not gonna use names) contributed a lot to public perception. He said numerous times he or they could trick people each and every time when doing supposedly blind tests of plugins vs hardware - but they choose to be fair.įantasy bubble - i am seeing this growing over years. You people did tried demo right? And if you could not make up your own mind about SSL plugins and how are these sounding when demoing them with your music, but bought these because you made some fantasy in your mind by reading manuals (and not reading them correctly) or uninformed articles - it's your fault.
If you are getting different percpetion of "what these should be" based on your fantasy well what can be said - there was and there is a demo. If one is being in disappointment because Jim won't float your *fantasy bubble* like some other vendors do it for you mind (read bellow - fantasy bubble) you better go and buy plugins from other lalala brands. I don't see what the fuss is about? They (SSL) never pretended that these plugins are something else then what they are.
